The mission is to promote youth lacrosse skills, strength, conditioning, training and endurance, to develop character and good sportsmanship and a healthy competitive nature in our players, and to encourage play at a higher level competition.
UPDATE 5/13/21 - A new idea for a ball wall was proposed at the monthly CYL executive board meeting. The idea and location have been discussed with the town but no decisions have been finalized or approved. The "retired" status of the project has been moved back to "active" old business and updates will come as they are available.
CYL Wall Ball Project - 2021 Update
Thank you for checking on the status of the Wall Ball project. Some years ago, CYL fundraised to build a wall ball lacrosse wall for all lacrosse players in our town. After discussions with the town of Cornwall, we learned the funds raised were grossly insufficient to meet additional safety requirements mandated by the town.
More recently, we donated the funds to the Cornwall Middle School PTO to include a wall ball lacrosse wall as part of their playground project at CMS. While this was looking promising, ultimately the wall was not approved.
After looking into several other options, the board has moved to deem this project retired.
The board officers recently moved to earmark a portion of the money for the support of the modified lacrosse program at the middle school level and a portion to grow the youth program by supporting special needs within Cornwall Youth Lacrosse.
If you were a prior donor and would like your donation refunded, please send a letter of request along with a copy of your cleared check to PO Box 649, Cornwall, NY 12518 and we will refund your money.
If you donated to the Wall Ball project and you do not have a cleared check to request a refund, we would like to assure you that your donation will be used to advance lacrosse in Cornwall.
