PHILOSOPHY:

“SPIRIT of the GAME” is the underlying philosophy in Lacrosse with the idea of sportsmanship and fair play. Competitive play is encouraged but never at the expense of mutual respect between players, adherence to the rules, respect of coaches and the basic joy of playing. The integrity of each player’s responsibility to uphold the “Spirit of the Game”, and this responsibility should not be taken lightly.

Coaches are preparing our players for fun, competition and for lifelong fitness. We are committed to help your sons & daughters to become their best, to challenge themselves and to ultimately succeed on and off the field. We extend to our athletes the importance of teamwork, camaraderie, leadership, dedication, education, honesty, sportsmanship and competition.

Lacrosse is a team sport. As a player you make a commitment to other players that are counting on you to show up and give it your all. We encourage the players to leave everything on the field and nothing in their lacrosse bag! Each player has a vital role in the success of the team. Some roles are more visual than others but none less important than the other. A chain is only as strong as it’s weakest link. If one of these links breaks or weakens, the entire chain breaks.

HOW WINNING PLAYERS ARE MADE:

• Give YOUR maximum effort to the end in practice and in games.
• Continue to learn and improve (be receptive to feedback from coaches).
• Refuse to let mistakes (or fear of making mistakes) stop you.

PLAYERS:

Athletic development is different for each individual. Players peak at different times in their life and during the season than others. No one was born a great lacrosse player. It takes constant work and dedication to become a great athlete. Love the sport, work hard to become the best player you are capable, take criticism with stride and be proud of your achievements. Be willing to take risks. A player can learn as much from their successes as from their failures. If you are to always “WIN” you never learn to deal with loss. These are all important aspects of sports and life!
